Review
Writer-director David Mackenzie’s adaptation of the Peter Jicks novel follows a young, troubled voyeur as he acts out his Oedipal fantasies following the death of his mother. It’s unsettling at points, but Jamie Bell, all watery blue eyes and adolescent coltishness, grounds things with an impressive performance that puts his natural, hangdog charm to excellent use.
