Profile

Queens native Lisa Linhardt’s green-minded jewelry shop features bold designs crafted from recycled metals, eco-friendly materials, and ethically sourced gemstones. She and 10 other designers work with feathers, glass, cork, Colombian tagua (a rich brown material known as vegetable ivory), eco-resin, horn, and gems to make inventive rings, necklaces, watches, and earrings. Linhardt’s co-designers include up-and-comers who were classmates of hers at FIT and a few established names, like Bendel’s regular Raquel Moreno. The jewelry is displayed on weathered salvaged wood shelves and crates, complementing the pieces’ organic features. Intricate glass bead necklaces are created by artisans in Kenya, whom Linhardt met on a 100 mile walk through Africa to benefit girls’ literacy. Prices range from her signature looped metal ring for $150 to a $4,000 hand-fabricated 22 karat gold ruby ring. Much of the jewelry is one-of-a-kind, like the notched “ice pixel” ring, hand-carved from smoky quartz, or Joann Scully’s 70s-inspired sterling silver chain necklaces draped with found objects, like dice, mini toy figurines, and mirrored charms.

Custom Work

Linhardt specializes in custom designs, working closely with couples to create nontraditional wedding and engagement rings. She sources conflict-free diamonds from Canada.
