Profile
Geoffrey Zakarian's three-level affair in the Chambers Hotel still has the menu and drinks to garner a swift business with young, international financiers, uptown gourmands, and even a few knowledgeable tourists. The Balcony lounge overlooks Town's bustling dining room, while a mezzanine area above the main entrance offers a roomier and more relaxed space to sample the outstanding cocktail list's creative libations. All three sections offer a Rockwellian feast for the eyes, with thoughtful amber lighting and attractive, textured wood. Lavish leather settees and sofas (that have actually been well-cared for) really do feel midtown posh, and can help make the most nerve-wracking date or business dinner more comfortable—especially while you're enjoying a colorful Blood Orange Cosmo. You'll have no trouble finding a wine or rare spirit to accompany tempting appetizers. Serious sophisticates will appreciate an impressive selection of artisanal cheeses, and bartenders who actually know what wines to pair them with.
